Farkasrét cemetery, mortuary refurbishment

Budapest | 2005

The small mortuary built in the early 30’s and located in the westernarea of the Farkasrét Cemetery, near the Hóvirág street entrance, XII. district of  Budapest. The design scope was to refurbish the dated mortuary building, make acessible for handicapped peopleand landscaping the immediate environment. We refurbished the full interior of the mortuary ceremony area,  set back the original facades of the building, and created a new exterior ceremony area connecting to the front of the building. The puritan, simple interior ensure a quiet backgruond for the mourning.
